Rural County Review

Write for us

Rural County Review welcomes pitches that bring a clear question to county geography and regional identity. We are interested in careful, readable contributions grounded in observable details and transparent reasoning.

What to pitch

Proposals may explore landforms, boundaries, place names, settlement patterns or the connections between rural places. A strong pitch names its central question, the county or kind of place involved, why the subject matters to a general reader and what material supports the proposed account.

A useful approach

Keep the focus distinct and the claims proportionate to the evidence. Explain specialist terms, note uncertainty and avoid turning a single feature into a complete account of a place. We favour a specific angle over a broad survey.

How to send a proposal

Send a short pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a brief outline and a note about relevant sources or experience. Please do not send a finished article unless requested.
